Langleg Resort in Kimberley, northern Cape, will be transformed into a jazz village when some of the country's leading musicians take to the stage during the yearly Kimberley Easter Music Festival.
Performers will include Afro-pop exponent Ntando, enduring band Stimela, world-renowned trumpeter Hugh Masekela, award-winning vocalist Ringo, hot Afro- pop groups Mafikizolo and Malaika and jazz DJ, M2-2, the founder of M2-2 Entertainment Worx, who will introduce his new Adult Contemporary Music Experience (Acme) concept.
This is the concept of fusing the best of selected genres together to create a seamless collaboration tailored for mature audiences.
The mixture of soul, funk, contemporary jazz, smooth jazz, Afro-pop, old-school classics and R&B will be the signature treat of DJ M2-2's sessions.
Renowned jazz promoter and co-director of Drankensberg Promotions Sam Mhangwani said: "It is our social responsibility to give exposure to up-and-coming artists in the industry. We give them a platform to break through, we help them to achieve success. The Acme concept sounds good, but we must put it to the public, they will be the real judges."
The festival kicks off at 1pm. Tickets are available at Computicket and Shoprite Checkers for R90 and will be sold at the concert for R120.
