David Pheto, who played the role of the head of the mega-rich Moroka family in Generations, says he is of royal blood.
"Just as I wanted my sons, Busang, Karabo, Archie and Zakes to understand the family's success in the soapie, I want to do the same with the Phetos,'' he said.
Pheto now wants his clan to claim their rightful place in the Bakgatla Ba Kgafela aristocracy in Moruleng, North West.
"This is not about unseating anybody, but to let our family and their offspring know about their family tree and where they come from,'' he said.
Pheto, who is also a top actor, said his family originates from Botswana and the Phetos are descendants of the Bakgatla Bakgafela royal family.
"It is for this reason that we have arranged an indaba for our clan this month at plot 273 West Street in Evaton.
"The meeting will be about rebirth, rebuilding and unity."
Pheto said his family boasts huge talents. His brother, Molefe, who spent 10 years in exile, is a top librarian.
Molefe, who is also known as Phineas, studied music at Dorkay House and rubbed shoulders with acclaimed musicians such as Gibson Kente and Kippie Moeketsi.
Molefe's sons are Pule, a top pianist, Gaboipeoe, a bass player and impresario, Oupa, a stage and lighting technician, and Rampho, an attorney who is involved in cultural events in North West.
Pheto has acted in many plays, including Nongongo, King Kong, No Good Friday, Of Mice and Men, The Tempest, Death, Phiri and Waiting for Godot.
