I want to comment on the report on the Mpumalanga nurse who was sentenced to five years for injecting her stepson with HIV-infected blood.

I want to comment on the report on the Mpumalanga nurse who was sentenced to five years for injecting her stepson with HIV-infected blood.

The sentence is too lenient if compared to the sentence of the young man who held hostage a Home Affairs official with a toy gun. The four-year old boy was not responsible for the pain, prejudice or anger the woman was reacting to. This is unfair and unequal justice.

The magistrate should have made an example of this evil woman to prevent others who might be planning to be cruel to their stepchildren.
