Tourism KwaZulu-Natal is once again expecting a bumper Easter holiday season despite the recent monster tidal waves and gale force winds that damaged parts of the province's plush tourism coastline.

The tourist body has established a toll-free line to provide information on the status of the province's beaches in a move to ensure holiday-makers are able to plan in advance for their stay in the Zulu kingdom.

Tourism injects at least R1,4billion into the province's economy over the Easter period, the second most important tourism season in KwaZulu-Natal.

Tourism KwaZulu-Natal acting chief executive Ndabo Khoza said tourists are encouraged to phone 086-010-1099 for up-to-date information on the province's beaches.
