The Gauteng education department will have 236 more schools to administer as of next month.

These are schools from North West and Mpumalanga that are part of the demarcation process. Gauteng will lose 34 schools to North West.

Department spokesman Mbela Phetlhe said proper planning had been done .

"These schools are coming with infrastructures. So it's not like we are going to have to build schools," he said.

DA education spokesman David Quail asked whether adequate resources existed to finance transport and school nutrition needs?

"Teachers are asking for grade 12 examination entry forms and hope their pupils will not be disadvantaged by new textbooks or set works."
