Mpumalanga Boxing Organisation's chairman Jan van Vuuren believes the three boxers he is taking to compete in the South African Championships in Vryburg, North West, are ready to come back with gold medals.

The championships start on Tuesday and ends on Saturday.

The trio, Bongani Ndlovu (48kg) and Vincent Mahlangu (48kg) from Evergreen Club in Waterval Boven, and Dominick Mamitsia (50 kg) from Amigos, will be taking part in the Under-17 category with their counterparts from other provinces.

Van Vuuren said the three fighters took part in last year's championships in Durban.

"Last year eight boxers took part. Four of them have since become overage and one has joined Gauteng. But with the three we have I'm hopeful that they will hoist the Mpumalanga flag high."
