We have to be very clear though that even if Mbeki manages to oust his opponents as party leader, he cannot have another term as the country's president.
I pledge my support to the ANC Women's League which also has the full capacity to steer the party leadership and eventually that of the county. Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka has done extremely well as the country's second in charge, and so can other women. Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf did it in Liberia and so can our women.
