The Mozambican national army has recovered about 70percent of unexploded arms which fell in residential and commercial sites during blasts at an armoury last week.

By Tuesday afternoon army engineers had collected 3015 unexploded missiles and rockets.

Teams of army engineers and de-miners would continue to work in the residential areas in search of unexploded arms.

Radio Mozambique reported that the death toll from the Malhazine blasts on Thursday had risen from 102 to 117.

As the country buries its dead and takes care of the injured, a lot of children remain traumatised by the explosions.

A report in a national daily, Noticias, said pupils "feel it's not safe to resume lessons at the partially or completely destroyed schools". - Sapa
