Music enthusiasts who cannot afford to go to the North Sea Jazz Festival in Cape Town can enjoy music for free at Greenmarket Square in the heart of the city today.

The show starts at 5pm and continues until 10pm. The line-up for the festival includes musicians such as the Saskia Laroo Band from Holland, Ezra Ngcukana, Hip Hop Pantsula, the Standard Bank National Youth Jazz Band, Siphokazi and Coda.

It promises to be a diverse, exciting and entertaining bill. Saskia Laroo, of Amsterdam, is one of the few women trumpeters in the world and has been blowing it for more than three decades. Ezra Ngcukana is one of the best local saxophonists.

HHP with his versatile hip-hop style is one of the country's most promising MCs and beat makers.

The rapper will be doing what he does best.

Nominated five times for the Samas, Siphokazi is a singing sensation whose vocal prowess shines through in the way she comfortably fuses soul, Afro-jazz and gospel in her music.

Her truly Afro-Soul album UbuntuBam seems destined to win her many admirers, here and abroad.

Though the album is Siphokazi's first, she has graced numerous music concerts and festivals both as a backing vocalist and a featured soloist.
