Mbhazima Shilowa, Gauteng premier, will unveil the 2010 World Cup strategic framework plan for the province tomorrow.

The event, which is expected to be attended by various soccer, business, tourism and government leaders, will take place at Emperors Palace in Kempton Park, starting at 8am.

The framework will outline Gauteng's approach to hosting the World Cup and various programmes that will be implemented.

In his speech, Shilowa is also expected to deal with the development opportunities that the World Cup offers.

Barbara Creecy, Gauteng MEC for sports, arts, culture and recreation, said the province was well on track in terms of its preparations for the tournament.

Gauteng venues to be used for both the 2009 Confederations Cup and World Cup are Soccer City, Ellis Park and Loftus.

Venues earmarked to be used as training grounds, which are being renovated are Orlando, HM Pitjie, Rand Stadium and George Thabe.

The province's 2010 World Cup is spearheaded by Mandla Mazibuko, Safa national executive committee member.
