The Old Mutual Encounters concert and family picnic is bound to attract crowds of fun-loving Gauteng people to Emmarentia Dam, in Johannesburg, on April 7.

The event will change Easter Saturday from a sad day to a music-filled outing, getting down to the sounds of Neo Muyanga, Gloria Bosman, pictured, Selaelo Selota, Watershed and Concord Nkabinde.

International sounds will be provided by Hothouse Flowers. They have promised to outdo themselves, blowing away all those who have the good fortune to watch them go through their paces.

Families, friends and colleagues are urged to use the day as a time of catching up with each other.

Armed only with picnic baskets and blankets, families can chill together and catch up with each other's lives without having to watch the clock.

Children can have a lot of fun in the safe playground area while parents relax and enjoy the concert.

Parking will be available only in Thomas Bowler Road.

Braais or open fires are not allowed anywhere in the Botanical Gardens.

A cash bar on site will be available.

Tickets are available from Computicket and cost R100.

Children under 12 pay R50. But when you pay for one child, the other children who are under 12 go in free.
