SABC disrespects sports viewers

I listened attentively to the reports about the SABC, e.tv and SuperSport bids to broadcast PSL games.

I listened attentively to the reports about the SABC, e.tv and SuperSport bids to broadcast PSL games.

South Africans have been paying television licences for too long and not getting good service from the public broadcaster. SABC Sport has not done a good job and it keeps insulting our integrity.

Just the other day, we were shown an under-23 match a day late. It also broadcast the Brazil and Portugal game live, at the expense of our boys.

A lot can be said about the bias of SABC.

On the other hand, if e.tv wins the bid to broadcast PSL matches it must make sure that it broadcasts matches to all the rural areas because their reception is very poor in parts of Limpopo.

SuperSport is doing a magnificent job of broadcasting all the games on Wednesday nights. The only problem is, how will poor people afford SuperSport's subscriptions if it gets the contract?

We have argued for far too long about SABC's poor service.

Why does SABC3 broadcast cricket live at any time?

Is it the stinking mentality that SABC3 is for whites and SABC1 and SABC2 are for blacks? If that is the case, shame on the SABC.

Our public broadcaster owes the public good service.
