Two people were killed and three critically injured when they were hit by a Putco bus in Pimville, Soweto, at the weekend.
The bus driver was arrested at the scene and charged with drunken driving and two counts of culpable homicide.
Police spokesman Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said the driver lost control of the vehicle before plunging into the pedestrians.
