The Boskruin Tennis Club in Randburg has embarked on a development programme to teach 10 grade 4 children to play tennis.

"This is a partnership between the club, the business sector, the community and Kingsway School," said Maggie Anderson, chairman of the club.

"The programme is known as the Jodys Tyres Hi Q Boskruin Tennis Club Development. The pupils attend training sessions every Monday for an hour under the supervision of qualified coaches.

"An outreach programme from Randpark High School, under Wesley Vine, is also fund-raising for the programme.

"That helps us a lot to ensure that there are special prizes during tournaments and challenge matches for the participants of the programme."

The programme was launched in Boskruin last week, where members of the club and other community members attended.

The Boskruin club was established in 1993 with just two courts for the players.
