Racial tensions are running high in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal, after an unknown black man was allegedly killed by two Indian men this week.

The assailants allegedly assaulted and stabbed the man before slitting his throat in full view of the public.

Police spokesman Shooz Magudulela said police found the two men and an unidentified dead man.

A bystander said it was the second time in a week that a "black man had been killed by an Indian".
