Bheki Mkhwanazi, the man who confessed to raping six women shortly after his release from jail, has dreamt of having sex with his mother and sister.

He ended up ejaculating blood after his masturbation the next morning.

This evidence was heard in the Johannesburg high court yesterday when probation officer Aubrey Sihlangu testified during Mkhwanazi's sentencing.

Mkhwanazi, 38, of Daveyton, Ekurhuleni, was last year convicted of 13 rape counts of six women, four of indecent assault and six of aggravated robbery after he confessed to the crimes.

He told the court that he repeatedly raped six women between May and his arrest in August 2004, barely five months after he was released on parole for rape.

Mkhwanazi has five previous convictions of rape.

Sihlangu said Mkhwanazi blamed his "abnormally high sexual drive" on witchcraft.

"He believes that he was bewitched after his first rape 16 years ago," said Sihlangu.

Sihlangu said Mkhwanazi received treatment for his sexual disorder in 2004 after other inmates complained about his masturbating in their presence.

"Even the nursing sister treating him in prison once observed the accused getting an erection during one of their consultations. This raised her concerns about her safety," he said.

Sihlangu said Mkhwanazi was a danger to women.

"He cannot be trusted. He even said it in his own words that had he not been caught, he would have continued with his reign of terror.

"He said that he is being haunted by these crimes and that he constantly harbours suicidal thoughts," Sihlangu said.

The court resumes on March 30.
