A prominent Pretoria medical practitioner and socialite died in his sleep last week.

Nathaniel Fanyane Ndubane, 56, of Nina Park, Pretoria, had earlier complained about feeling unwell. He was found dead in his bed in the early hours of Thursday.

His death comes about two weeks after the death of another popular doctor, socialite and politician, Peter Mabe of Atteridgeville, west of Pretoria.

Ndubane was yesterday described by family members as a "good and loving father who cared deeply about his patients and family".

He is survived by his wife Dipuo Sarah Ndubane, son Nkateko, and daughters Thembi and Nyeleti.

Ndubane will be buried on Wednesday morning.
