The Mafikeng Academy are looking forward to a day of great football when they face Mamelodi Sundowns' Academy in development programme games at Chloorkop near Midrand on March 31.

Tebogo Ramasilo, head of the academy, said they will play against the Brazilians in four categories - the Under-13, -15, -17 and -19.

"We have been preparing for the four games and are ready. The games will also serve to expose our youngsters to bigger things. We do not have a sponsorship to run our activities. Despite that, we have organised a place for the boys to sleep under one roof.

"I won't even mind if one of the Premier Soccer League clubs can adopt us, all that I want to see happening is for the youngsters to be developed.

"We are delighted that two of our products (Bokang Tlhone and Kopano Racoco) are already on the books of Orlando Pirates' development. We need all sorts of assistance, be it in the form of money, transport and playing equipment like soccer boots, training bibs and a kit."
