Easter games set to lure 16 teams to KwaMahlabo

The yearly KwaMahlabo Easter Games will be played at Zone 10's KwaMahlobo sports grounds in Meadowlands from April 6 to 9.

Blessing Zwane, a spokesman for the local organising committee, said theyexpect 16 clubs to take part in the tournament.

Registration fee is R850 per club.

Zwane said there would also be a meeting at Makhaya Hall at Zondi 1 on April 4 at 7.30pm.

"The winners will pocket R10 000, playing kit, 22 gold medals and a trophy. The runners-up will get R4 000, playing kit and 22 silver medals."

Besides the team prizes, there will also be incentives for the best player and top goal scorer of the tournament.

l In Sharpeville, the Human Rights Masters Tournament will be played at the Vaal University of Technology on March 25 as part of the Human Rights Day celebrations.

There will be soccer matches in shich former greats such as Bull Lehoko, Linda Buthelezi, Conti Kubheka, Phillemon Mohaneloa, Johannes Phadime, Satch Modise, Zero Mogale, Phiri Tsotetsi and Ernest Marumo will be in action. Women will also play. Entrance is R5 per person.
