Jimmy Augousti, Bloemfontein Celtic's boss, is expected to meet Farouk Khan today in a bid to rope in the former Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach to guide Phunya Selesele in the new season.

"We have been speaking with Khan over the phone and we will be meeting for the first time in person in Johannesburg tomorrow [today]," Augousti said yesterday. "Though we played generally well this season, I think we should have done much better considering the quality of players we have in the team.

"If we fail to win the Absa Cup we will have nothing to show. I was very disappointed with the way we lost against Chiefs the past weekend."

Asked about the future of current coach Tony de Nobrega and his assistant Benjamin Reed, Augousti said the new coach will decide on his assistants.

Khan, who was the assistant coach of Santos before he was appointed the head coach of The People's Team, would neither confirm not deny today's meeting with Augousti.

Khan, who also served as Gordon Igesund's assistant at Mamelodi Sundowns recently, is on record that he will not settle for any other jobs at clubs, but the position of head coach.
