Two youngsters who are passionate about films could get to go to Los Angeles and attend the prestigious Giffoni Hollywood Festival.

The pair who will go overseas on a trip organised by Ster-Kinekor Theatres will have a chance to see and mingle with Hollywood stars.

To determine the winners, a competition has been introduced and young people in two age categories, 12 to 14 years old or 15 to 17, can enter.

They need to answer two questions in no more than 500 words each - "What film has had an impact on your life and why?" and "If you had the opportunity to make a film about a South African story, what would your story line be?".

The closing date for entries is next Sunday. Children must have seen one movie at any Ster-Kinekor cinema between February 28 this year and the closing date to qualify for entry.

Giffoni International Film Festival is Europe's largest film festival and will take place from April 23 to 28. The festival is aimed at inspiring and uniting young people from around the world.

Winners will also act as ambassadors for Ster-Kinekor's Corporate Social Responsibility project, Vision Mission.
