Home Affairs Minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula's decision not to dismiss incompetent, under-performing managers is absolutely disgraceful and a reflection of her own inept management style.

She hides behind labour laws by claiming that such action would be against those laws. Mapisa-Nqakula does not seem to understand that we, the taxpayers, pay the salaries of her incompetent employees.

We have seen in the past that this government did not have the moral courage to dismiss its own MPs and state employees that were convicted of defrauding taxpayers.

So perhaps it is not surprising when incompetent employees are not dismissed even if the department has proven to be the most inefficient and corrupt in South Africa's history.
