Mandla Radebe joins CGA

Former Volleyball South Africa general manager Mandla Radebe has joined Central Gauteng Athletics in the same capacity.

"It's a great feeling to have joined CGA, the country's biggest athletics provincial structure," said Radebe, who is based in Diepkloof, Soweto.

Radebe replaced Pat Chipps, who retired at the end of December after serving the sport for more than 10 years. Meanwhile, CGA are confident of doing well at the Yellow Pages Ultimate National Track and Field Championships in Durban on March 16 and 17.

The men's team: Sello Legodi (10 000m), Themba Miya, Tshamano Setone, (5 000m), Mbulaeni Mulaudzi, Bonolo Maboa (800m), Isaac Mbuyase, Samson Ngoepe (1 500m), Ruben Ramolefi, Skhumbuzo Seme (3 000m steeple-chase) and Jaco Engelbrecht (shot-put).

Women: Violet Raseboya (1 500m), Rene Kalmer, Poppy Mlambo, Irvett van Blerk (5 000m), Tebogo Masehla, Elizabeth Phaka (3 000m steeple-chase), Lebo and Lebohang Phalula and Mapaseka Makhanya (800m).

Management: Mbuyiselo Nkuna, Ntombizanele Tumane (joint coaches), Jacob Ramphomane and Frikkie van der Schyff (joint managers).
