A female co-accused in the case involving Ngudwa Johannes Malinga, 84, who is facing 15 charges of raping minors, yesterday said she was HIV-positive.

Busisiwe Zwane, 30, of Chrissiesmeer, Mpumalanga, stated in an affidavit in the Carolina magistrates' court during her bail application that she was HIV-positive and her continued incarceration would lead to her death because she was not receiving a proper diet or medication.

She is being charged with procuring children for R600 each from needy families and bringing them to Welgelegen Farm for the pensioner.

Zwane also had two daughters on the farm.

Malinga's bail application was postponed to March 19 because his witness failed to appear in court. - Mckeed Kotlolo
