Comedy has taken off in a big way in South Africa with local comedians showing off their skills.

Blacks Only is an exciting comedy show aimed at giving local comedians a platform.

Featured this year are Marina Franklin, an international comedian, David Kau, Riaad Moosa, Krijay Govender and Trevor Noah.

Franklin comes from the US and has participated in a number of comedy performances. She made her mark in the US as a finalist in the hugely popular reality show Last Comic Standing, where professional and amateur stand-up comedians go head to head.

Our own David Kau was born with the humour of black South Africans in his genes.

Born in Kroonstad, he's guaranteed to get you guffawing.

Things hot up with a bit of spice and that rare mix of brains, beauty and comic genius. Krijay Govender is one of the few female comics to make it on to Blacks Only.

Prepare for a great night out with a lot of laughs. Since its inception, Blacks Only has played to packed houses and this year looks set to be no different .

The show opens on March 24 at Emperors Palace. It is organised by Emperors Palace and YFM 99.2. Tickets costs R120 and can be bought through Computicket.
