A former secretary in the office of the presidency and her husband yesterday appeared again in the Vereeniging magistrates' court on charges of fraud.

Moleboheng Molotsane, 25, and Benjamin Matli, 29, appeared briefly before magistrate Bruno van Eeden for allegedly defrauding a hotel, a horse carriage company and a car hire company with their wedding last year.

They allegedly used presidential letterheads to convince the companies that the presidency would settle bills of R90300.

Molotsane was released on bail of R3500 and Matli is out on a warning.

Last month Molotsane was rearrested for violating her bail conditions after being seen at a college campus.

She was under house arrest and could only leave home on Sundays between 9am and 2pm. Two weeks ago she was allowed out on Wednesdays between 8am and 6pm, and Sundays between 9am and 2pm.

They will appear again on March 29.
