Gang vendettas and turf battles over markets for tik and other drugs are fuelling the violence in Manenberg on the Cape Flats.

This is the view of police spokesman Billy Jones after three family members were found "executed" with bullet wounds to their heads yesterday morning.

Jones said more members of the flying squad and a special task force had been deployed to the area to help curb the rampant violence.

The bodies of Wayne Smith, 31, his 27-year-old brother, Graham and cousin Tasneem Smith, 20, were found in a Mercedes-Benz.

Wayne's body was found behind the wheel, his cousin outside the car's right back door, and Graham was found 10 metres away from the car.

No arrests have been made.

These latest killings come shortly after four-year-old Cameron Adonis was hit by a stray bullet while playing in his bedroom at home in the troubled township.

He is fighting for his life in hospital.

Cameron was the second victim in a month in the war raging between the Hard Livings and American gangs.

A young mother was killed on January 31.
