Limpopo Academy of Sport (LAS) has organised performance camps for various provincial squads to prepare the local teams for different national competitions.

The Limpopo football squad, which won the Coca-Cola Under-17 Youth Challenge in Rustenburg in December last year, will embark on a camp in Seshego from tomorrow until Sunday.

Mentored by Raymond Mdaka, the squad is making early preparations to defend their title at this year's event that will be staged at a venue still to be decided in December.

More such camps are expected to be organised by the selectors to assess new recruits.

Maletjema Ramodike, LAS's manager, also revealed that they had organised a similar camp on the same dates for boxers in Giyani.

The local boxers are preparing for the Cadet National Championship in North West from April 3 to 7. Netballers will also be in camp in Polokwane from tomorrow until Sunday. The city will also host a softball camp from March 16 to 18 as players prepare for the Softball South Africa (SSA) championships that pitch off a day later.
