The 2010 World Cup government unit will tomorrow brief the nine heads of departments dealing with sports on the latest developments relating to the tournament.

It ends on Friday.

Dan Moyo, acting chief operations officer of the 2010 government unit, said the meeting will take place in Port Elizabeth.

"It is a routine quarterly technical committee meeting preceding the Minmec (an organisation comprising the minister and nine MECs).

"We will be discussing issues relating to the World Cup, for now we are delighted that everything is moving in the right direction.

"The meeting will prepare a report for the MEC'," said Moyo, adding that the 2010 LOC African Legacy Programme head, Dr Eddie Maloka, will also address the meeting.

Moyo said they will also use the platform to inform the heads of departments about the African Legacy Programme.

The adoption of the African Union declaration in Ethiopia last month will also be tabled.

"We are now venturing into the issue of bringing the provinces into the fold, we had a successful meeting on Monday with Minister Makhenkesi Stofile," said Moyo.
