Tsotsi star Presley Chueneyagae appeared briefly in the Pretoria magistrates' court on a charge of fraud yesterday.

Looking smart in a black suit, the Oscar-award winner posed for pictures and signed autographs at the court.

Magistrate Chris Chokwe postponed his trial to April 18.

The lead actor in the award-winning movie was arrested on January 23 for driving with a fake Ivorian driving licence.

The licence had allegedly been doctored to look like an international driver's licence.

Chueneyagae is out on R2000 bail.

The Ivorian mastermind behind the fake licences scam, Tidane Keita, was sentenced to five years in prison. He pleaded guilty to 10 charges in the Pretoria magistrates' court in January.
