Their promoter, Branco Milenkovic, announced that Sam could fight for the WBC International junior welterweight title while Patrick should challenge Irvin Buhlalu for his SA lightweight belt.
This comes after their superb first-round wins over Thulani Mkhwanazi and Zamani Hate, respectively.
"There is nothing left for Sam locally, while I expect Patrick to be appointed as the mandatory challenger for Buhlalu," said Milenkovic.
Patrick has claimed Hate's second spot to pave the way for a crack at Buhlalu.
The Malingas both stopped their foes in less than two minutes into the first round. Sam's left hook to the ribs forced Mkhwanazi to turn his back before going down on one knee.
He registered the fourth defence of his South African junior welterweight title.
Hate, who went down twice before being rescued, forfeited his number two spot in the ratings. Patrick was ranked fourth before their fight.
Patrick twice failed to win the national belt. He was stopped in two rounds by Mzonke Fana on November 16 2002; he did not to answer the bell going into the eighth round because of a big cut above his left eye against Isaac Hlatswayo on April 24 2004.
Meanwhile, Milenkovic announced that the WBC had appointed his other charge, Phumzile Mathyila, as the mandatory challenger to WBC International junior flyweight titleholder Muvhuso Nedzanani.
