League is not won yet, says Skhosana as Cosmos visit
SuperSport United intend using tonight's top of the table clash with the on-song Jomo Cosmos to intensify their challenge for the Castle Premiership title.
The two sides meet at Loftus at 7.30pm.
Matsatsantsa a Pitori, who have been blowing hot and cold this season, are third with only one point separating them from Cosmos.
The two Gauteng giants failed to rattle the net when they met in the first round at Katlehong Stadium last month.
But David "Mazolman" Skhosana, United's publicist, is adamant the three points will be theirs this time round.
"We made it clear at the beginning of the season that our mandate to the team was to win the championship title," he said.
"I know there are some people who believe it's over, but football is a funny game and we are not going to throw in the towel yet.
"I still believe several clubs are still in the running for the title, we just have to start winning and also be consistent.
"Cosmos must forget about getting even a single point. We appeal to our supporters and other soccer lovers to come early to the stadium," said Skhosana.
Andrew "Jaws of Life" Rabutla, Cosmos' manager, said they had recovered after bombing out of the Absa Cup and were gearing themselves up for United.
"It is always a tough game when we play against United, for us the most important thing is to finish the season in the top eight," said Rabutla, downplaying their chance of grabbing the title.
United will bank on Katlego Mphela, Teko Modise and Daine Klateand Cosmos on Bamuza Sono and Calvin Kadi.
