Limpopo softball giants Seleteng Giant Killers will channel the R5000 incentive they received on Sunday into their development team.

The incentives have been put together by LimDev, the sponsors of Limpopo Softball Association's Super League, to make competition in the top flight more exciting.

The money is given to a hosting team that wins its last league match of the day.

Killers pocketed the money after pipping Moletlane Texas 6-5 in a thrill-a-minute tie in Seleteng on Sunday.

Super League champions-elect Mahwelereng Spikes were the first to pocket the money after their 5-2 success over title pretenders Lebowakgomo Wildbeasts in Mahwelereng a fortnight ago.

"The money will not benefit the senior team, but will be channelled into our development side because the senior team has a sponsor," Irish "Coffee" Mphahlele, Killers' brand manager, said yesterday.

Killers' senior team is backed by African Metre Reading which takes care of equipment, transport, accommodation and catering.

LSA and their sponsors have also embarked on a drive to lure more stakeholders to softball by drumming up support ahead of Softball South Africa's national championships, which they host in Polokwane from March 19 to 24.
