A Standard Bank AutoBank in Paardekraal near Rustenburg was blown up yesterday, North West police said.

A Standard Bank AutoBank in Paardekraal near Rustenburg was blown up yesterday, North West police said.

Inspector Erica Roos said commercial explosives were used to blow up the ATM in Extension 3, but robbers did not get to the money.

Damage to the ATM was estimated at about R200000.

This is the second time the ATM has been blown up.

The first attempt was on January 12, and no money was taken that time either.

No arrests have been made and police are investigating, Roos said. - Sapa
