A family of four and a fifth suspect accused of stealing Winnie Madikizela-Mandela's jewellery worth R4 million appeared in the Orlando magistrates' court on Friday.

Mbuso Vutela, 47, Nolwazi Githuka, 44, her husband Paul Githuka, 46, and their children Jerry Githuka, 19, and Mpumelelo Githuka, 21, were remanded in custody pending further investigations.

The suspects are said to be relatives of the former ANC Women's League president.Magistrate Mohamed Jooma postponed the case to March 2. - Getrude Makhafola
