It's time to unleash your wild side. The WILD Card allows individuals, couples or families a year's free entry to nearly 60 national parks and nature reserves around southern Africa for the price of just a few days' conservation fees.

Launched by South African National Parks (SANParks) in mid-2003, the WILD Card has been sold to more than 100000 cardholders a year since then.

The WILD Card programme has since been joined by Cape Nature (Western Cape's provincial conservation authority), Msinsi Holdings (which operates six reserves in KwaZulu-Natal), and the three game reserves operated by Swaziland's Big Game Parks.

Even better news is that in April this year, Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife and the Greater St. Lucia Wetlands Authority, in the north-east of the province, will be joining the WILD programme, adding nearly 70 parks and reserves to the WILD Card's national network. All this for as little as R195 for an individual, for free entry, for a year.

What is more, WILD Card holders receive a 5% CashBack Reward on the price of their accommodation, with their smartcards' microchips being immediately credited with these rewards.

The rewards are measured in rands and cents. If you spend R1000 on accommodation, for example, R50 is immediately put back into your WILD Card's electronic "purse".

This money, together with the CashBack Rewards added to your card by about 2000 participating businesses in the country, such as car-hire companies and hotels, can be used to pay for goods and services at any participating business.

The WILD Card is the really affordable method to satisfy your interests. Be it game viewing in some of Africa's premier parks, or cultural tourism in historic sites like Mapungubwe.

Whatever wild ideas you have, the WILD Card is the best way to do it.
