A man was arrested for allegedly stealing a cellphone from the offices of ER24 emergency workers.

Spokesman for ER24, Werner Vermaak, said a man approached an employee and allegedly stole a cellphone in the administrative wing of their offices in Rivonia, Johannesburg on Monday.

Paramedics chased the man as he ran toward his car, where two other suspects were waiting. When they caught him, the man apologised and returned the phone. A police reservist at the scene arrested the three men, aged 25, 26 and 28. They were taken to the Sandton police station where they were charged with theft. - Sapa
