Premier Soccer League CEO Trevor Phillips yesterday confirmed he will haul Ajax Cape Town boss John Comitis and Orlando Pirates' Mickey Modisane over the coals for bringing the league into disrepute.

Phillips also confirmed he had more charge sheets ready as he expected more officials to step over the line as the final third of the league marathon gains pace.

Comitis and Modisane will be charged following comments each made against referees Victor Hlungwani and Jerome Damon on their clubs' respective websites.

Damon awarded Mamelodi Sundowns a penalty which put even television referee Sylvester Ndaba in a tight spot as he tried to explain it in the highlights while Hlungwani is alleged to have sent off a player who was metres away from the action.

Ajax, who needed full points to go to the top of the log, ultimately lost the match 1-0 to Black Leopards.

"I do understand some of their frustrations but we cannot condone a situation where match officials are attacked.

"The thing is we do have the Safa Review Committee to whom they can apply for a review. We have channels to deal with all these," said Phillips yesterday.

However, most PSL teams would disagree with Phillips that the Safa review committee offers any recourse. Pirates, for one, are still waiting for the outcome of the case against Lwandile Mfiki in which supporters rioted after a draw with Jomo Cosmos.

The match commissioner's report was said to be scathing on the way Mfiki handled the game but nothing has come of the case since.
