Fans of the legendary rock group Guns 'n Roses will be thrilled to learn that their idols will be performing at the 2007 My Coke Fest.

The sensational rockers, who had shows in over 70 countries last year, will blow audiences away at the New Market racecourse in Alberton on April 27, and in Cape Town, at the Kenilworth racecourse, on May 1.

The My Coke Fest, previously known as the Coca-Cola Colab Massive Mix, will feature another heavyweight rock outfit, Hoobastank, and Grammy award winner, Evanescence.

Though Guns 'n Roses have been all over the world, this will be their first visit to our shores. They will be taking time off from their 2007 Chinese Democracy world tour to perform here.

A rock 'n roll spectacular that has to be experienced to be believed, Guns 'n Roses comprises lead vocalist Axl Rose, guitarist Robin Finck, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, Richard Fortus, bassist Tommy Stinson, keyboard players Dizzy Reed and Chris Pitman, and drummer Frank Ferrer.

Commenting on the South African leg of the tour, lead vocalist Axl said: "I've been fortunate enough to have played in some of the most historic buildings and stadiums around the world, but performing in South Africa will truly be an honour.

"I can't wait to see South Africa. This is a dream come true."

With the release of their highly anticipated Chinese Democracy album, tickets for this year's shows promise to be very much in demand.

Tickets are available at Computicket and cost R550 for the golden circle and R375 for general admission. Gates open at 10am.
