After four fights and all ending with him losing on knockouts, he still felt that he was also an important component of their stable. He therefore confronted his trainer.
"Ta Dingaan, why you give me no name like Kid Ma-rong Rong, Kid Bazooka, Kid Bulala...eh?"
"Okay from vandag jy isKid Candle".
"Sure, sure le grendlelogama, Grootie".
Later when explaining the nickname to others, Dingaan said: "The palooka thinks he is something special yet he always gets blown like a candle ..."
