Struggling Castle Premiership club AmaZulu now have Carlos Parreira and Julio Cesar Leal in their technical staff to fortify their chances of survival in the top flight this term.

But these are not Carlos Alberto Parreira and Jairo Cesar Leal who are head coach and assistant coach of Bafana Bafana.

The quartet is from Brazil, though.

Parreira, whose middle name is Edward, has been appointed physical trainer at Usuthu.

Leal was appointed AmaZulu head coach three weeks ago after he was recommended by the side's technical director, Ted Dumitru.

But AmaZulu are still to win under their new coach after 2-0 and 2-1 defeats against Maritzburg United and Bidvest Wits University, respectively.

"We felt there was a need for us to have a physical trainer to improve the fitness level of our players. We are all positive that Parreira is the right person for the job," said James Dlamini, AmaZulu operations manager, yesterday.

"We have also decided to sign Simo Dladla who has returned from Greece.

"We might be down but certainly not out and we will continue to ensure that we bring stability at the team and everyone is confident we will survive relegation at the end of the season."

But it seems that only a miracle will save AmaZulu from playing in the Mvela Golden League next season.

They are rooted at the bottom of the log on 14 points from a possible 63.
