Sports Minister Makhenkesi Stofile will hold a two-day indaba with officials from the troubled South African Football Association (Safa) to iron out problems in the build-up to the 2010 soccer World Cup.

The announcement comes in the wake of the debacle over the failure of Safa to submit on time an application for a work permit for Bafana Bafana coach Carlos Alberto Parreira.

And it has been discovered that when Safa did get around to making the application, it did not provide all the documentation the Home Affairs Department requires to consider issuing a permit.

Last week Parreira was told he could not work in South Africa until he had been given a work permit.

The matter was sorted out on Monday thanks to the personal intervention of the the minister of home affairs, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula.
