Fourth arrest in Thato case
Police yesterday arrested a fourth suspect in connection with the brutal murder of Soweto schoolgirl Thato Radebe.
Thato, 14, was raped and killed more than week ago. Her body was found next to liquor bottles, used condoms and blood-splattered stones.
The unidentified suspect was arrested after the investigating officer, Detective Amos Maneta, received a tip-off.
"I got a call from an informer during a routine police patrol in Soweto. The informer told me another suspect in the case was around the corner," said Maneta.
"I sped off to where he was and we arrested him."
Maneta said the suspect, who is in his 20s, is expected to appear in court soon.
Three other suspects appeared in Soweto's Protea magistrates' court last week. They will appear again on February 26.
