A congregation in Limpopo must be thanking God for sparing their lives after the roof of their church collapsed soon after they left the building on Sunday.
The corrugated iron roof was blown off and the walls collapsed as a storm lashed through the area.
Pastor Samuel Mudau said a Tshimbupfe Assemblies of God church committee was holding a meeting inside the church when the storm broke out.
Mudau said: "We are happy and praise the Lord because though the walls collapsed and the roof was blown away, nobody was injured."
The storm affected other parts of Limpopo, leaving a trail of destroyed schools, churches and houses in its wake.
A little girl from the remote area of Ngwekhulu, outside Makhado, was injured after an incomplete RDP house collapsed. She was admitted to Tshilidzini Hospital for treatment.
One of the families that were affected by the disaster was left homeless after the roof of their three-roomed house was blown about 500m away.
Matodzi Netshimbupfe said she was returning from church and was surprised from a distance to see that her house was roofless.
"I'm happy because no one was injured in that horrific incident," she said.
"We are waiting for a tent from Makhado municipality as temporary accommodation."
