The Mpumalanga Vodacom men's league is set for an exciting finish as both favourites to clinch the crown won their weekend fixtures.

Batau Killers beat FC Spurs 3-2 while Mpumalanga Black Aces sent reigning champions Barberton City Stars into deep trouble after trouncing them 2-0. Aces lead the race with 46 points after 21 games and Killers are hot on their heels with 42 points from 21 games.

Killers' coach Macdonald Makhubedu said they will fight until the last game.

"We are done with all the tough teams and now expect to beat all those we will face," said Makhubedu.

Aces' coach Russells "Romario" Molefe said they didn't feel any pressure being at the top of the log.

"Our aim is to win the league and qualify for the playoffs. We are on the right track to achieve that but we need to redouble our efforts," said Molefe.

Results: FC Benfica 2, MP Highlanders 1; ELB Movers 1, FC Henemat 2; Middelburg Saints 4, FC Barcelona 0; Secunda Eagles 1, FC Sporting 3.
