Birds United have awakened the sleepy village of Lehurutshe.
The Vodacom League affiliates will be contesting the last-32 stage of the Absa Cup against Bidvest Wits University at Lehurutshe Stadium on February 24.
It will be the first time that a game of this magnitude is played in the village.
United's chief executive Odirile Tolo said they were feeling optimistic.
"It's the first time that we qualify to take part in a competition of such a high level. We're glad because it will be an opportunity to showcase the talent we're having in the team," he said.
Tolo said there was excitement in the air and the mood in Lehurutshe and the surrounding areas was one of ecstasy.
Though Birds are fifth in the Vodacom League North West, Tolo said their support is bound to double when they host Wits.
Titus Seboko, director of sports in the province, said everybody was talking about the game against the Clever Boys.
"We're aware that the stadium will most likely be filled to capacity that is why we've started with contingency plans to make this event possible," said Seboko.
"We'll be sending a team to inspect and assess the stadium, and to put everything in place before the big day.
"They'll be looking at the pitch, the stands, the changerooms and parking, to see to it that they are up to the required standards.
"We're pleased with Birds United for making it to that stage of the competition, we're also looking at bringing the culture of sport back to the province."
Seboko said they will be meeting Ndleleni Duma, the MEC for sports, to brainstorm around the game.
"We'll be meeting the MEC for sports to come with a marketing strategy for this game," he said.
