FNB boss Harris is accused of arrant hypocrisy

Paul Harris [chief executive of FirstRand] earns a high salary, resulting either in a lot of people being paid a pittance at FNB or customers getting screwed by high service charges.

Paul Harris [chief executive of FirstRand] earns a high salary, resulting either in a lot of people being paid a pittance at FNB or customers getting screwed by high service charges.

Banking customers are subjected to collusion by major banks. To have Harris talking of proud South Africans smells of incredible predation and utter hypocrisy.

One asks, who is going to pay for this failed attempt at playing political opposition? Yes, indeed, FNB customers. I am not advocating that Harris not voice his concerns about crime. But does FNB expect the government to provide security at all its branches?

Harris and many other business leaders are part of the Business Against Crime initiative and have direct access to the government. One would think that Harris would express his strongest opposition to the inactivity of the government.

That the initiative was motivated by the death of David Rattray once again highlights how valued the lives of white people are. Many black people have died as a result of crime and this has not raised the ire of FNB.

Let FNB become a political party and see how long Harris keeps his salary. However, maverick action by the rich only when the rich die can't pass unchallenged.
