A 24-year-old woman from Newcastle in KwaZulu-Natal who claims she was repeatedly raped by her former boyfriend in full view of his five-year-old child is determined to see her baby's father behind bars.
However, her community is convinced the woman was not raped after she was seen walking hand in hand with the suspect.
Captain Shooz Magudulela, a police spokesman, said the victim reported that the suspect came to her house to visit their child when he raped her.
Magudulela said the man allegedly refused to leave when the woman asked him to and instead forced himself on her.
He said a case of rape had been opened.
