Arrows tell Wits

Canaan Mdletshe

Lamontville Golden Arrows have put their 3-0 win over AmaZulu behind them and are looking forward to welcome Bidvest Wits into their lion's den at Chatsworth Stadium on Sunday.

Zwe Mzolo, Abafana Bes'thende publicist, said complacency is the downfall of many teams who rest on their laurels after a few wins.

Wits' mentor Boebie Solomons said they will be going down to the coast with a clear understanding of what to expect.

He said Arrows seem to have found their footing after a slow start to the season and are a hard nut to crack.

Solomons downplayed their ambitions of winning the league, saying he was satisfied with the way things have gone so far for them.

Arrows' Sehloho Nale, Papi Zothwana and Mabhudi Khanyeza are expected to torment Wits.

The Clever Boys will be looking at Moeneeb Josephs, Marcos "Pepe" de Jesus and Kenwyn Manuel to secure the three points.

l AmaZulu will be going all out for maximum points when they meet the wounded Maritzburg United in yet another KwaZulu-Natal derby, at Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu on Sunday.

This is Usuthu's second derby in seven days and they are determined not to disappoint their supporters. James Dlamini, the team's operations manager, promised them fireworks.

Dlamini said all the players were available for selection, except for Siphesihle Ngobese, who was injured last week.

United's media liaison officer Senzo Msimang said they are expecting a difficult game because AmaZulu are languishing at the bottom of the log.

He said Usuthu are unpredictable and play interesting football, but they will be coming up against a team that is as desperate as they are.
