The Human Rights Commission has decried what it calls "the absence of remorse" of the Waterkloof 4 killers.

The men were each sentenced to 12 years for murdering a homeless man. They had earlier attacked another man as they were returning from a nightclub.

The commission's head of legal services, Kayalethu Zweni, said yesterday that the sentences on the murders charges were "appropriate in the circumstances".

"We are particularly concerned about the guys not showing remorse for what they did," he said. - Kingdom Mabuza
